Olympic champion Alastair Brownley participated in his first Oxenhope Straw Race, dressed as US President Donald Trump.
The former Triathlette, former Osbury, was one of the 600 participants in a fancy dress, who ran between six pubs while carrying a bundle of straw on Sunday.
This year marked the 50th anniversary of the event, which has returned in the 1970s when a friendly bet between two farmers that can increase a bundle of straw between the pubs, which will become a race for 2.5-mile (4 km).
Organizer Robin Wright said: “The origin of this extraordinary race is only captivating as this event.”
According to the rules, participants will have to stop at five pubs along the route – wagon and horses, bay horses, former “Idiot hut” social clubs, lambs, and former shoulders of mutton – dumping a pint down on each before pushing on dogs and guns to finish on dogs and guns.
The contestants only submitted prizes for both the fastest teams and the most creative costumes.
Brownli, who donated Donald Trump dress, told the BBC, “I have made a long career in a professional game, but has also been run in the region running running.
“It has always been something that I have seen and have never been able to do and now I have got the opportunity to do it, so it is very good to be in a very famous Oxenhope Straw Race here.”
According to the organizers, the program has increased more than £ 500,000 for donations to date.
