Kushambi, Uttar Pradesh Vice President Keshav Prasad Maurya on Tuesday compared Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav to a petulant child to “demanding milk” for accountability on his demand for relief from the government.
Maurya was in his home district Kaushambi for a day -long visit, during which he reviewed the flood relief measures in the Sheetla Guest House.
Talking to the media after the meeting, he responded to Yadav’s recent comments to deal with floods and other natural disasters.
“Akhilesh Yadav is excited and disorient after losing power. He is roaming to make an irrational statements. Floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis are natural disasters, and wherever they are in the precentive, Uttar Pradesh, or coastal areas, the government is making all the necessary arrangements to deal with them,” Mauri said.
If Akhilesh had a “little worry” for the flood affected people, he would spend time in his service, he said.
Maurya commented, “But he does not have such workers. He has only goons, criminals, mafia and corrupt people. Making a statement alone will not help. You have to serve people.”
On Monday, in a post on X, Akhilesh Yadav said that the state government could organize “Super VVIP” rallies, but failed to do relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas.
Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that families whose houses have fallen in floods and heavy rains get help under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme.
He directed the health officials to set up a medical camp in flood-land areas and ordered the Electricity Department to immediately respond to the complaints of the outage.
There are many rivers in Uttar Pradesh, including the temples of Varanasi and Prayagraj, many people above the danger mark.
