On Saturday afternoon, Danver officials confirmed that passengers aboard an aircraft at Denver International Airport were taken out due to an incident with the landing gear of the aircraft during the takeoff.
The Denver Fire Department said the problem occurred on the US Airlines flight AA3023 from Denver to Miami, while the aircraft was still on the runway. Officials said all 173 passengers and six crew members are safely away from the aircraft at Boeing 737 Max 8.
Five people were evaluated at the scene, but not taken for further treatment, the airport confirmed. However, a person assessed at the gate was taken for medical attention, which is reported to have a minor injury.
According to the flightware, the aircraft was scheduled to release Gate C34 at 1:12 pm. The FAA stated that the “Potential Landing Gear event” took place during the takeoff from the runway 34L, allegedly being taken by bus to the terminal by bus around 2:45 pm, and the FAA is actively investigating the incident.
American Airlines later confirmed that the aircraft experienced the issue of maintenance with a tire and was taken out of service to inspect by their maintenance team. Passengers will depart for Miami on a replacement aircraft later today, the airline said.
Flightware suggests that 87 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport as the airport said at 2 pm that a ground stop was for all the flights coming after 2 pm to 2 pm to 3 pm to 3 pm, which had not yet left its departure airports. Operations at the airport have become normal since then.
A separate incident occurred with American Airlines aircraft at the airport in March When an aircraft faced the “engine related issue” and was taken to the Denver International Airport.
