The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a warning to Air India that two Bangalore-London flights in May exceeded the 10-hour flight deadline, for which the airline did not have satisfactory reasons.
According to Air India, the issue of rostering on two flights occurred “due to a separate interpretation of permission to reduce the airspace -related airspace closure”.
An airline spokesman said on Wednesday, “It was correct immediately after the correct interpretation.
On August 11, a letter from the DGCA said that on June 20, a reason was sent to the airline, stating that it was said to explain the reasons for violating the criteria.
“The regulator also noted that the airline’s accountable manager failed to ensure compliance with the rules mentioned in the car,” read in the letter.
The regulator said the notice was sent to the airline, but DGCA received a response to addressing “insufficient” laps. It also warned the accountable manager, Campbell Wilson.
The notice reads, “… due to the answer presented by Messrs Air India, the notice has been duly investigated in response to the notice and has been found to be unsatisfactory in addressing regulator laps and shortcomings.” “Accordingly, the accountable manager of M/S Air India Limited has been warned by it and is advised to use excessive hard work and responsibility in ensuring strict compliance with the applicable civil aviation requirements.”
