New Delhi: Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Sunday that tribals in the Northeast and other parts of the country would be excluded from the purview of the proposed uniform Civil Code (UCC), so that they can live their lives “independently” according to their social systems.Speaking at the inauguration of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Bhavan – RSS – A Tribal Research and Training Center built by RSS -Sambadh Akhil Bharia Vanavi Kalyan Ashram – Rijiju said: “Some people create a strange atmosphere on social media in these days. (BJP) According to the Constitution, think about a uniform civil code (when a uniform law is equal to all, it is not the same). Needed? “He said that while some states have already started work on UCC, tribals will be outside its scope. “We have clearly stated that tribals will be exempted from it. Let the Adivasis be given freedom to live in their own way. This (UCC) will not be implemented in other tribal areas of the country in Schedule 6, Schedule 5, North Eastern and other tribal areas.” The UCC issue is being investigated by the Law Commission. Uttarakhand has already implemented it. At the event, Rijiju joined Union Urban Development and Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and RSS general secretary Dattriya Hosabale to unveil a statue of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda. Hosabale underlined the importance of tribal culture in shaping India’s national identity. He said that the tribals should not be seen as a remains of the past but as a “living culture” that enriches the country. “The national identity of India cannot be imagined without tribal heritage. Development in tribal areas should not be empowered, they should not be displaced. The tribals should participate in development, not understanding,” he said, “He said, praising Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, to protect tribal identity and traditions for his decades and traditions.”Rijiju also reflected the role of cultural organizations. “Except for the Sangh Parivar and some other organizations, no organization has actually tried to add tribals in this country. It is said that the tribals should come in the mainstream. I do not understand what the mainstream is because Sanatan includes various cultures and united with them all,” he said. The organizers of the event said that the new center will serve as a center for research, youth leadership training, and awareness programs, aimed at preserving tribal traditions, which coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.
