Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday presided over a meeting to review many issues including the state flood situation and the upcoming festivals.
Addressing the officials through the Videoconge, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to speed up flood relief efforts. He directed that flood shelters should have strong security for women and adequate milk for children, a statement said.
Adityanath also issued instructions to use only big boats for rescue operations.
The CM also reviewed security preparations for the upcoming festivals. He announced that women will get a free journey on UP government buses and city buses for the midnight of August 8 to the midnight of August 10.
He also gave instructions to ensure cleanliness and safety in temples for the last Monday of Sawan, as well as for Janamashtami on 16 August.
The Chief Minister called for a grand ceremony on Independence Day, and for the Tiranga Yatras to be held on 14 August, which is seen as ‘Partition Horrific Small Day’.
Reviewing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Adityanath targeted to hoist 4.60 crore flags across the state this year, and prepared a program for flag construction, festivals and official hoisting from 13-15 August.
An important part of the meeting was dedicated to addressing issues around rumors related to drone, especially in Western Up. According to DGP Rajiv Krishna, 17 cases have been registered under the Drone Policy 2023 for spreading rumors and 29 people have been arrested.
The Chief Minister ordered strict action against those who operate drones without permission, including the seizure of their property. He warned that the district officials and station house officials would be held accountable to any untoward incidents arising out of these rumors, and directed the police to extend leg patrols and join the village security committees to compete with misinformation.
