Voters in Southern Arizona have nominated to move a special general election to replace Democrat Edelita Grizzalva Late American Representative. Raul Grizzalwa In the 7th Congress district of Arizona.
Raul Grizzalwa, who is the father of Edelita, was one of the most senior and progressive power brokers on Capital Hill.
His death in March left the seat open for the first time in two decades. Grizzalwa was a champion of environmental protection and went firmly to bat for immigrants and original American tribes. He regularly provoked the previous GOP challengers in Deep-Blu district, which extends to the border of the state with Mexico and includes Taxon and parts of the surrounding counties.

Edelita Grizzalwa was one of the batch of Democratic Hopful seeking enrollment in primary for the 7th Congress district seat. A progressive, Grizzalwa has said that maintaining democracy, standing for immigrant rights and protecting the medicade and medicare is one of its top priorities. He made a long list of heavyweight endorsements-including Democratic US Rape Alexandria Osasio-Cortes, Swatantra Sen Berney Sanders and several states and local authorities.
She was against former state MP Daniel Hernandez; Digital strategist and breeding rights advocate Deja Foxx; Indigenous activist and scholar Jose Malvido Junior; And retired health care executive Patrick Harris Senior.
Daniel Butrez, owner of the painting company, received GOP nomination in Tuesday’s election. He will face Edelita Grizzalwa in the special general election on 23 September. Butraz captured more than one third of the vote against Raul Grizzalwa in the 2024 election.

The seat will not decide the control of the US House, but it is one of the three vacancies in the heavy democratic districts, which will remove the chip on a thin Republican’s 220–212 majority in the chamber, when this decline is filled in special elections.
