New York City Mayor Eric Adams and former village Andrew Kuomo are calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations that Zoharan Mamdani recognized himself as African American at his Colombia University application.
However, the Republican named Curtis Sliva says the dispute is a distraction from the socialist agenda of Mamdani and only turns them into a victim, affects its supporters and entertains the unlikely voters.
Both Adams and Kuoomo warned that the move with the alleged racist of Mamdani could indicate a deep sieve – the move with the Adams expedition can be said with “possibly fraud” and a warning of Cumo’s campaign that it can be “just the tip of Iceberg”.

Curtis Sliva vowed to stay in NYC mayoral race
Democratic candidate for the Mayor of New York City, Mammadani recognized his 2009 Columbia University application as “Black or African American”, even if he now says that he now says that he does not consider himself black, New York Times reported Thursday. Mamdani, then senior from a high school, also examined “Asian” and allegedly wrote in “Uganda” in space for additional background. He was eventually not accepted for Colombia, even though his father is a professor at Elite School. He was not an American citizen at that time.
Mamdani told The Times that he “identified as an American who was born in Africa,” and said that it was an attempt to reflect many boxes to reflect her “complex background” and gain an edge in the competitive admission process.
However, Adams condemned the functions of the case, “Every student insulted the college properly in the college.”
“African is not a checkbox of American identification facility,” Adams said. “It is a history, a conflict and a living experience. To someone is deeply aggressive to exploit that personal gain.”

Rich Azopardi, a spokesman of the Quoomo campaign, resonated the call from the Adams camp.
“It should not be surprised as a mamdani – their proposal, their funding and their background – no investigation at all,” Azopardi said. “This issue should be thoroughly investigated because, if true, it can be fraud and only snowfall tip.”
Adams is running as an independent, chosen as a democrats in late 2021, while Kuomo is weighing an independent passage for Gracie Haveli, who lost to Mamdani in Democratic Primary.

On the other hand, Sliva is taking high road and sees the dispute as a political distraction that will only help in the causal of the case.
“There is a lot we can criticize Zoran … for me, what are we doing here?” Sliva told Fox News Digital. “We are making him a martyr. We are suffering Zoharan and are getting away from the issue why his election will be a threat to New York City.
“He is being attacked as a Muslim, how he eats in a video is being mocked for it. Stop it. You are annoying those who can disagree with those who otherwise disagree on issues. You are reducing his support.”
Mamdani’s victory has created a political earthquake in the Big apple, which is afraid of models, independent, orthodoxies – and even in some parts of the Democrat party – who believe them Socialist policies The world’s financial capital can have destructive and long -lasting results. Mamdani fled on a platform that included progress and aligned economic policies in the Democratic Party, such as $ 30 minimum wages, tax hikes on businesses and rich, and other policies, such as the city -owned grocery shops and rent freeze for stable tenants.

Sliva warned critics that critics were handing over a political gift to Mamdani.
“Even those who do not agree with them on issues, they will rally in their defense when they feel that the attacks are inappropriate or at the top,” Sliva said. “Let’s return to issues where Zoharan wants to run the city of Mamdani and the way I want to run the city – or there are clear differences between Eric Adams or Andrew Kuomo. Stop it, you are just hunting it.”
The Adams Abhiyan is calling for Mamdani’s 2009 entry records from Columbia University to release the entry record of 2009, whether their non-citations have influenced admission or financial support decisions, and a formal review to determine whether a university policies were violated.
“We need an answer,” said Adams spokesman Tod Shapiro. “Because the people of New York are worth knowing whether the person asking for his vote has probably built his career on the foundation of fraud.”
Fox News reached the Mamdani campaign about the digital controversy and his opponents took it to him, but did not get any response immediately.
