According to new research by Surrey University, almost one of the two people using hospital toilets does not use a hospital toilet.
19-Study, in partnership with Bispaberg Hospital in Denmark, put sensors on toilets and sink pipes to monitor hygiene behavior.
From 2,636 flush, it is detected 43.7% (1,153 flush), using hospital toilets, which are with figures at 61.8% in a few weeks.
Despite the assumptions that handwashing after Kovid -19 can be “second nature”, Dr. of Surrey University. Pablo Perera Dole said that this behavior can “directly affect patient safety”.
The study stated that the handwashing figures were particularly below the beginning and end of each day, including specific food.
Professor Benjamin Gardner of Surrey University said: “Strategies that raise awareness at a significant point in a bathroom visit and easily understand how to wash effectively – such as singing Happy Birthday twice – people can help people make handwashing habits.”

“These conclusions are worrying, but not surprising,” said Professor Carrie Newlands of Surrey University.
Professors Nulands want views reinforcement, such as posters and hand-jail stations should be replaced by “more effective behavior strategies”.
