ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz on Sunday killed the Mayor of Los Angeles with a surprising fact-trick on the success of the immigration agenda of President Donald Trump.
After a broadcast of an interview that he was with Democratic Mayor Karen Bass, Raddatz disputed his claim that Trump’s immigration cracks had not succeeded.
“And whatever they are doing is definitely working on the border,” the reporter said on ABC News, responding to Bass.

The network broadcast a section of the interview, where Raddatz asked the mayor about the use of Trump’s immigration and customs enforcement to detain illegal migrants in the city of Major California.
“Los Angeles is a city of immigrants, 3.8 million people, and about 50% of our population,” said Bass. “And so, when the raids started, the fear spread. The fear spread like a virus around the entire county.”
Raddatz said, “Do you think the administration has done anything good in these six months on the border?”

The mayor replied, saying that the administration performed well while responding to the LA fire that destroyed the county near the beginning of 2025.
,[But] If you ask me, is there anything that they have done well in terms of immigration? I don’t know, I don’t think so. I think the approach has been punitive, ‘Let’s make it hurt as much as possible so that these people do not come, “Bass said.
Following the interview clip, Raddatz disputed Bass’s statement, saying the rift of Trump administration has produced dramatic results along the US southern border.
“We were down on that border, and it is dramatically, dramatically different from a year ago,” he announced.
