Texas village. Greg Abbott warned the state Democrats that the threat of arrest would last “literal years” when returning to Texas.
Abbott made a statement during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with the host Shannon Breme. He argued that it is within his rights that they keep the Texas Legislature indefinitely in a special session, which extend the punishment for the Democrats who have run away from the state.
“I am authorized to call a particular session every 30 days. It lasts for 30 days. And as soon as it finishes, I am going to call another one, then one and then another, then another, then another one,” Abbott said.
He said, “If they show back in the state of Texas, they will be arrested and taken to Capital. If they want to get out of that arrest, they would have to stay outside the state of Texas for literal years,” he said.

The warning comes when the Abbott is trying to remove delicate democrats from the office, arguing that they have abolished their roles under the constitution of the state.
“We have a situation where MPs are violating the law in Article 3 of the Texas Constitution where they need to work on bills. Because they are violating the constitutional mandate, which means they are not fulfilling the oath of their office, and they can be removed from the office in this legal action that I am taking,” they said.

Along with extended threat to Abbott’s arrest, the Republican Governor has also threatened to increase a redistribution margin for his party if MPs do not return to Austin.
