Pete Hegseth, a top adviser to the Defense Secretary, has left the Pentagon after six months of service, the Defense Department (DOD) confirmed Fox News Digital on Saturday.
Justin Fulcher told Fox News Digital that he formally resigned on Thursday evening, fully described the decision as his own.
Fulchar said that he had originally planned to serve six months in the government and after reaching that point, chose “harmoniously” to move forward. He also emphasized what he described as the “great work” being done by our soldiers and the country as “great work”.
“The Department of Defense is grateful to Justin Fulcher for his work on behalf of the President. [Donald] Trump and Secretary Hegseth. We wish him all the best in our future efforts, “Sin Pantagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a statement.

In addition to advising Hegseth on personnel and policy, Fulcher played a role in several defense initiatives during his tenure, he told Fox News Digital.
Fulchar said that he contributed to review of major acquisition programs with the aim of strengthening sluggish and American industrial base, and helped to streamlve the deadline for “years to months” to modernize major IT systems across the department.
He also said that he supported Hegseth in high-level meetings in Indo-Pacific, including Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore, and participated in efforts that revised to about $ 50 billion from non-fatal line items and in more impressive defense programs.
Fulcher “praised the dedicated men and women of the Defense Department,” the “warrior rejected the ethos” and “reconstructive of the army rebuilding”, and thanked both Hegseth and Trump for their leadership. “Nevertheless, this is just the beginning,” Fulcher said.
Fulchar, who served as Senior Advisor to Hegseth since April, announced his departure on Saturday afternoon in a message posted to X.
“According to the plan, I have completed 6 months of service in the government in my country,” he wrote, called experience “incredibly inspiring”.

He wrote, “None of these secretaries could be the decisive leadership of Hegseth or without constant confidence in our team of President Trump,” he wrote. “I will continue to make American warfighters champions in all future efforts.”
Fulcher joined the DOD earlier this year as part of Hegseth’s Inner Circle, a group of loyal advisors appointed after the rudder in the Pentagon during Trump’s second term.

Their departure comes in the midst of the widespread reshuffle of senior personnel inside Hegseth’s office. Since January, at least six colleagues have been abandoned, although defense authorities have reduced steps as standard infections.

It is not clear what the next step of Fulcher will be, although his statement suggests that he intends to be active in national security circles.
The Pentagon has not yet named a replacement.
