Kiran is a heavy area associated with Pakistan’s nuclear weapon program. It is believed that it is an underground nuclear weapon storage facility and serves as a site for nuclear research and testing, including sub -minus nuclear testing held in the 1980s. The region is considered strategically important due to radar stations and tunnels, it is believed that for military purpose, there is located there. The proximity of the site for Sargodha Airbase (now Musaf Airbase) only combines its strategic importance. In the immediate awakening of Operation Sindoor, IAF denied reports that it killed Kiran Hills.Answering a question on Kiran Hills at a press conference on 12 May, Air Marshal Ak Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, said, “Thank you for telling us some nuclear establishments in the grocery hills. We did not know about it. We have not killed Kiran Hills. I did not abbreviate in my briefing yesterday. However, while answering that question, DGMO Bharti’s peculiar smile again went viral. On the question of an X user whether the Indian missile strike “indicates whether the explosion was deep inside and whether this place which was hit a point of importance like an entry or exit”, Simon replied, “No, it, with the imagination of the first, indicates any subtrainian effect or entry, not with a hill, which is not with a hill.,In addition to the impact site, satellite images also showed repaired runways at Sargoda Airbase, indicating continuous damage during Indian attacks in May. Rapid repair suggests that the airbase was considered a high-primary strategic property.India launched about 15 Brahmin missiles and other accurate weapons on the night of 9–10 May, targeting the leading Pakistani airbase. The operation by the IAF damaged 11 out of 13 major airbase of Pakistan, causing a significant shock to the rival country’s air defense network and military infrastructure. It was Simone that had earlier rejected the claims of some Pakistan media outlets that his army had targeted Adampur Airbase in Punjab, allegedly damaged to an SU -30 MKI and destroyed a Russian S -400 air defense system. To dismiss these claims, Simon then provided imagery before the struggle, from March 2025, in which MiG -29, who undergoes regular maintenance period, was depicted. After the conflict ended, PM Narendra Modi went to the Adampur airbase and debated Pojistan’s claims with security personnel with the S -400 missile defense battery in the background.
