New Delhi: A first -year MD student in Meyims Patna was found dead in his hostel room on Friday, causing shock and concern between students and employees at the Premier Medical Institute. According to news agency ANI, the deceased has been identified as Yadvendra Shah, a native of Odisha. Police said his room had remained closed since morning, and his mobile phone was unanswered, inspiring the hostel officials to alert the local police. Police officer (SDPO), the sub-division of Phulvarisarif, Sushil Kumar said, “Today, around 1 pm, around 1 pm, Phulwarisarif Police Station came to know that the doors of the hostel room of Yadvendra Shah, an AIIMS student, 1 year old student, did not open since morning and their phone was not inside. The police reached the spot and the door was opened in the presence of the MEIMS administration and magistrate. His body was found lying on the bed. ,The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been called to assist in the investigation, and further technical evidence is being collected. Police has informed Shah’s family in Odisha. “Inquiry is being prepared. Postmortem will be done. Further technical evidence will be collected”, SDPO said.
