Cover Story: “When is cancer political?” Medical researchers, patients retrenched the trump administrator, cut the budget
Scientists conducting medical research are facing an existential crisis: sorting and cutting the budget by President Trump, they say, there is a danger of finding a treatment for cancer. He tells Ted Koppel, senior contributor to “Sunday Morning”, that once a strong bilateral support issue – Cancer Research – is now falling under the administration’s budget ax. Coppel also speaks with cancer patients participating in clinical trials for treatment and vaccines, whose own contribution in finding treatment.

For more than half a century, conductor-composer Michael Tilson Thomas holds the steps of the concert hall with a swashballing style. Earlier this year, Thomas led the San Francisco Symphony in his final scheduled operation demonstration due to the return of an aggressive brain tumor. He talks with a “60 minute” correspondent Leslie Stall as to how he was replaced for the first time in junior high school, and living in art.
