New Delhi: The Indian Army successfully tested the Akash Prime Air Defense System at more than 15,000 feet in the Ladakh region on Wednesday, confirming the officials. Tests were conducted in the presence of Army Air Defense and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) officials.During trials, missiles from the surface -to -air made two direct hits on the rapidly growing target aircraft in a high -height area with thin air.Akash Prime is the third and fourth regiment of Akash Air Defense Systems in the Indian Army, which also performed a lot during Operation Sindoor, thwarting attacks by Pakistan’s China aircraft and Turkish drone.Since its development in 2009, the sky missile system has been continuously upgraded to meet various operating needs. The original Akash Mark-I in the variant, Akash-1S with an indigenous seeker, designed for high altitude and low-lower situations Akash Prime, and Akash-NG, which provides a long range and more advanced features.
