The stand-up show of a Katie Hopkins has been canceled over security concerns, which is due to a planned protest set to be out of the venue.
Ragby Boro Council at Warwickshire said it was canceling the Saturday show by political commentator and former Apprentice contestant under advice from the police.
A statement released on Tuesday said that Ben Hall was a “family site” and the council could not guarantee the safety of ticket holders or protesters if the show proceeded.
Hopkins posted on social media that his team was not given a chance to provide a solution and “canceled” to call other places to take the booking.
The 50 -year -old said that the cancellation of the show sold would affect 480 ticket holders in a 10 -minute Instagram video.
He told his followers: “We have not been given the opportunity to reduce it.
“We can provide security. We have any opposition that we can ensure that they are well seen on the other side of the road.
“We have not been given the opportunity to discuss and try and solve it.”
The Rugby Boro Council said that concerns were raised about the stand-up visit in the city and it took a decision after consulting the Warvikshire police.
A spokesperson said: “Benan Hall is mainly a family site that has activities ranging from many community programs and music shows to the fairs of antiques.
“We want to support all our communities and their interests with safe, fun activities that everyone can enjoy.
“We know about a planned protest on the evening of the performance, indicating the intention of participating with significant number of individuals and organizations.
“Because we are responsible for the event security and cannot guarantee the safety of ticket holders or protesters, we have canceled the booking.
“We understand that the depth to feel the matter has said. We will review the Ben Hall Booking Policy and debate it in the upcoming meeting of the council.”
Hopkins said: “We will not allow our audience to cancel”, as he filed a petition for bar and places in rugby to take on booking.
Ticket holders have been asked to contact promoters for refund. Hopkins said that customers would get an email to play on Tuesday.
He wrote on X: “Council CEO Dan Green intended to cancel the Benon Hall sold completely without any reason.
“We refuse to be canceled. The show must go.”
