The studio in which the new Harry Potter Television Reboot is being filmed is allowed to create a temporary school for child actors to do real studies.
On Friday, Warner Brothers Studio Levsden near Wattford, was told by the three River District Council that it could use a series of portacabin structures as a school feature for the next decade.
The classrooms were designed to be used by 600 students during the peak period, when large crowds are shot, but will usually serve around 150 students.
It will work on the week of the week between 05:30 and 20:30, so young actors can fit their actual studies between night shoots, ratiots and places at fictional hogwarts school.
The application is partially retrospective, suggesting some aspects of the schemes had already begun.
School planning documents do not specifically refer to Harry Potter, but a “important new TV series that will form the base in the studio for the next 8–10 years.”
In proposals, it was specified that the school’s infrastructure would be for a maximum of 10 years.
