A big fire is broken on a nature reserve in Surrey as the UK said in its third heatwave of the year.
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said that in a post on X just before 18:00 BST, there were 166 fire engines at the scene in Henley Common in Thursday, Henley Common.
It said that the fire was covering around eight hectares (20 acres) and advised the locals to escape from the region and close the windows and doors.
Laura Watts, who works at a nearby pet shop, said that she could smell smoke at around 16: 15bst, soon after which a fleet of fire engines changed.
Hankle Common has been used as a film set, which includes James Bond film Skyfall and Marvel Movie Black Widow.
It is an important Heathland habitat and home of ground-nesting birds, including knights and skylars.
Ms. Vats described the moment when she felt that it was on fire.
“We break the smoke and went out, which when we saw it billing,” he said.
“The fire teams did not grow after a long time and blocked the road with their vehicles and asked people to stay away.”
He said that the fire brigade was working at the scene for a few hours “because the wind keeps rising and spreads it”.
“We were handing them bottles of water to them because it’s such a hot day,” he said.
A spokesperson of SFRS said: “Currently we have 16 devices which participate in Hankali Common, a forest fire on Thursday.
“The fire is covering about eight hectares.
“Please avoid the area and nearby residents should close windows and doors.”
Wildfire warning
In England on Saturday, the temperature reached 33C (91.4F), recorded in Ross on Wye, which was reduced to the peak of 34.7C (94.5F) on Friday.
The latest Heatwave has declared a hospipe ban in most parts of the country with a warning of wildfire.
Mango is a 560 hectare (1,400 acres) Nature Reserve, part of Thursday, Hankale and French Commons is part of the special area, special security sector and location of special scientific interest.
An important part of it is owned by the Ministry of Defense, which uses land for military training.
Another part of the region is owned by the Hallest Common Golf Club.
