New Delhi: According to a new study, a average child under the age of 5 in India, spends around 2.2 hours per day in front of the screen, according to a new study.The average screen time for children under two years of age is 1.2 hours when most guidelines determine that it should be fully avoided, published in a magazine, Caurus, Ashish Khobragade and AIIMS Raipur’s M. Both carried out a meta-analysis of 10 studies, including 2,857 children.According to the study, the increase in screen time is associated with decrease in language development, lack of cognitive function, and obstructing social skill development, harassing the issues of sleep habits and concentration.To reduce the negative effects of excessive screen time, the study states that it is important to create a technical area in a home, set a clear and consistent screen deadline and actively participate in offline sports and interactions.A child specialist and president of Felix Hospitals, Dr. DK Gupta said, “About 60-70% of children under the age of 5 are spending more time on screen – whether it is mobile phone, laptop or TV – compared to recommendation.He said, “Parents should become a role model for their children. They should reduce screen time at home first,” they should be reduced. Recently, the Chief Medical Officer of Ghaziabad issued an advice for parents in a unique exercise, who were looking at physical, mental and practical health issues among children who are accustomed to mobile phones and suggested steps such as tangling children in external and social activities to shut them down.In addition, promoting digital citizenship responsible from young age can be achieved by determining a good example of screen habits and providing guidance on proper material.
