While undergoing the security of the airport, a flight traveler made an observation after installing an alarm – which provoked “sweat -wate” conversation online.
Posted in the “R/TSA” forum on Reddit, the message was clearly titled, “My crotch was flagged twice, the idea?”

The user said, “I don’t care about pat-down. They were humble and professional and do not bother me, but I wondering what it did.”
Many other people speculated on the comment section as to what the alarm could be.

A user said, “It can put an alarm on heavy sweat (experienced once), which would probably be some more common that is now in the summer months.”
Another user asked, “Are you sweating?” To which the passenger replied, “Maybe a little. I am nervous to fly, so I was nervous.”

A separate Reddit person said, “I was also discovered when I flew from Tampa from the airport of my house last time.” “The guard said that ‘marshy rot’ or ‘swamp crotch’ or something similar as embarrassing something unnecessary.”
Another user commented, “I didn’t read all the comments, but this happens to me when I get late for flight because I get sweaty.”

“May be: clothes (baggy etc.), sweating, position (not too wide or very narrow on footprints), zipper, many layers, contemplative accessories, ghosts, etc.,” a user commented.
A spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told Fox News Digital that sweat could play a role in setting up alarm.

The spokesperson said, “moisture from a person’s body can change the density of clothing, so it is possible that sweat can be to make our advanced imaging technology (AIT) machines alarm.”

“If this happens, the passenger may have to undergo additional screening, such as a pat-down in the body’s area, where the AIT is concerned, to ensure that there is no danger,” the spokesman said.
