The delegation of Israel and Hamas has begun an indirect round of the conversation of ceasefire in Qatar, as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the head of Washington to meet Donald Trump.
Netanyahu said that he feels that his meeting with the US President on Monday should help in progress efforts to reach a deal for the release of more hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza.
He said that he had given clear instructions to his negotiators that Israel gained a ceasefire agreement under the conditions accepted.
Hamas has said that he has responded to the latest ceasefire proposal in a positive spirit, but it seems clear that there are still gaps between the two sides that need to be agreed to any deal.
For now, Hamas is still essentially being out for the same terms that he has earlier emphasized – including the guarantee of all enmity and the end of the return of Israeli soldiers at the end of any Trus.
Netanyahu’s government has earlier rejected it.
The position of Israel also cannot be transferred to any large degree. As he was leaving Israel for the US, Netanyahu said he is still described as three missions: “The release and return of all the hostages, alive and fallen; destruction of Hamas’s abilities – to take it out, and to ensure that Gaza would no longer threaten Israel.”
The intermediaries of Katri and Egypt would have cut off their work during the indirect talks between Israel and Hamas in an attempt to cross these sticking points, which have derailed other initiatives since ending in March.
Israel has since resumed its aggressive against Hamas with great intensity against Hamas, as well as an eleven -week blockade on the assistance entering Gaza, which was partially removed several weeks ago.
The Israeli government says that the purpose of these measures is to further weaken Hamas and force it to interact and free the hostages.
In the last 24 hours, the Israeli army says it killed 130 Hamas goals and killed several terrorists.
But the cost of civil life in Gaza is also increasing. Hospital officials in Gaza said that more than 30 people were killed on Sunday.
Now the question is whether talks in Qatar can get an acceptable agreement for both sides – rather whether Trump can persuade Netanyahu whether the war should end in their meeting on Monday.
Many people in Israel already believe that there is a price worth paying to save the remaining hostages.
Once again, they came on the streets on Saturday evening, calling Netanyahu to reach a deal so that the hostages could eventually be freed.
But Netanyahu’s cabinet has staunch voices including National Security Minister Itmar Ben Gwir and Finance Minister Bezelle Smotrich, who once again expressed their fierce opposition to end the war in Gaza before Hamas.
Once again, a ceasefire is the presence of real speed towards the deal, but is uncertain whether either the Israeli government or Hamas is ready to reach an agreement, which may be less than the major conditions set so far.
And once again, families of Palestinians and Israeli hostages are still held in Gaza, it is expected that it will not be another false morning.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attacks, killing around 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.
According to the Hamas-Interested Health Ministry of the region, at least 57,338 people have been killed in Gaza since then.
