Police said a four -year -old boy had died when a gravity has fallen in a cemetery.
The Lancashire police said the boy was injured in Bernley Road, Humlingden on Saturday at 13:00 BST at the Rawannstall cemetery.
A force spokesperson said that paramedics tried to save him, but “sadly the boy died in the” devastating “incident.
He said that death was not considered suspicious and a file coroner would be sent “in the appointed time”.
A police spokesman said the officers were called to the cemetery “A gravity fell on a child after the report”.
He said: “Sadly, and despite the best efforts of emergency services, the boy became unhappy.
“Our views are with our loved ones in this devastating time.”
Labor MP Andy Macken, for Rosendel and Darven, said that his views went to the family and all were impressed by the “tragic incident”.
