A Hampshire MP is ready to see a law that he was formally adopted on smuggling of dogs, cats and ferrets.
Liberal Democrat MP Danny Chambers for Winchester and VET have government support and law will break on imports of dogs and cats that are mutated or heavy pregnant.
It will also give government power to prevent the imports of puppies and kittens which are under six months of age. Currently the minimum age is 15 weeks.
Government said in November, when it formally supported Dr. Private member bill of chambersThat the “non-commercial” movement of pets increased from 100,000 in 2011 to more than 320,000 in 2023.
Dr. Chambers said that the mutation of dogs, such as their ears, should be stopped.
He said, “This is not legal so it is not being done by the weights and we know that people are harvesting the ears in the UK, perhaps there is no anesthetic. They often receive infection as that result,” he said.
“It causes physical and psychological problems for the dog for the rest of your life. It is purely beauty so they look hard, they look vicious, they mean – even when they don’t.”
Other mutations of dogs can be included to do their tail dock, and they can be declared with cats.
it is rare Private member billThose who are proposed by MPs, whose names are taken out of a random ballot, are adopted.
But animal welfare (imports of dogs, cats and ferrets) bill will also ban the import of dogs and cats beyond 42 days of pregnancy and limit the number of animals allowing in a vehicle.
Dr. The bills of the chambers are supported by the Dogs Trust, stating that the three canes were taken to the Korso puppies that were found to illegally enter Britain.
Sunny, Ray and Sky were run from Romania when they were 13 weeks, without a health certificate, and under the pet Yatra Yojana (pets). They should have entered under commercial law.
They were underweight, worried and already their ears were spread and the tail was docked.
Charity said that the change in law would help to pursue dogs by “suffering from illegal importers”.
