Former NBA player Ben McCalemore has been convicted of raping a 21 -year -old woman during a Lake House party, including a several later companions of Portland Trail Blazers, a jury ruled on Thursday.
The Jury, McLemore, 32, convicted of rape, illegal sexual penetration and sexual abuse were found in Clockmas County, south of Portland. Portland television station KGW reported that he was not found guilty of another count of sexual abuse.
The sentence was sentenced for Wednesday.
District Attorney John Ventworth said in a statement, “We believe that there are people who are afraid of people with celebrity or prominent status can avoid prosecution. Not in Clackmas County. This case reflects my office that criminal works prosecutes regardless of the criminal’s community situation.”

On October 3, 2021, allegations from a party from a party at Lake Ososo Ghar were owned by his trail blazers team partner Robert Kovington.
The prosecutors claimed during the trial that the sexual encounter was rape, while McLemore’s lawyer had counted that it was consensual sexual relations.
The woman said that she was disabled after one night of drinking heavy alcohol and unable to agree. The prosecutors presented pictures of the woman hovering over a toilet and then came out on a couch, Oregonian/Oregon Live first told.
She said that she woke up at a point during rape and froze in terror.
“I don’t know who this person is,” he testified. “This is a random person who is doing something like this for me.” Associated press usually does not identify victims of sexual assault.
At one point, he said that he allowed his body to slide on the floor in an attempt to stop the attack. The woman testified that McLemore pulled her back on the couch and continued.
Kovington first testified that she had seen the woman molesting McLemore while she was sitting on a couch.
McLemore testified that he too was drinking alcohol, but claimed that sex was consent. He also said that he and the woman did not interact during or later during the Act, after which he immediately left home.
One of his lawyers, Chris Winmiller said McLemore left after receiving an angry message from the then wife, who tracked her and wanted to know why she did not have her own lake in Oosgo home.
Clackmas County Prosecutor Scott Heli said there was no confusion. “When you look at all the circumstances around you and you assess the evidence in the case, I present you that the defendant is guilty,” he said on Tuesday while closing the arguments.
Another defense lawyer, Lisa Maxfield argued for McLemore’s acquit.
“The only appropriate decision in a case where two people get drunk and have sex and are drunk compared to women, the only appropriate decision in such a case is not guilty,” he said.
The woman said that she did not hire a lawyer to sue McLemore and did not take money from her. Instead he chased the criminal case because “you cannot do this to anyone, let someone alone go to someone you don’t know.”
McLemore, who played a college in Canasus, was the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft by Sacramento Kings. He also played with Portland in 2021-2022 for Memphis, Houston and Los Angeles LES before his final NBA season.
Since then, he has played in Europe and China. Last August, he signed with a team in Türkiye.
