When American Ben Shelton was furious after playing in his second round encounter with Rinke Hijikata in Wimbledon, he was suspended due to poor light as he was about to serve the match.
After winning the first two sets 6–2 7-5, the 10th seed shelton was moving 5–4 in the third and possibly to wrap his progress within a few minutes.
But with the arrival of close to 21:30 and the sunlight faded, the umpire on court two announced that there will be no other game that evening, much more for the disappointment of Shelton.
Two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist, 22, questioned the officials about the decision, meaning that they have to return to play on Friday that can prove to be just a game, refusing him a full day.
The fact was to add Shelton’s annoyance that he had lost three matches points on Hijikata’s service, and also asked if the game could be suspended before the third set starts.
