New Delhi: The journey from Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad to Jaipur has become small and intensified with NHAI on Wednesday, which is a link road-Bandikui-Jaipur-Khol from Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Wednesday. This will reduce travel time from Delhi to 2.5-3 hours compared to the current 3.5-4 hours. The link is closed at Bandikui, 170 km from Sohna – from where the expressway starts.NHAI officials said that traffic is being allowed on Link Road as a test as soon as the security audit is completed. In the next few days, all systems will be in place and tolling will also begin, he said.To reach Jaipur, passengers first had to leave the expressway in Dausa and take NH-21-it took at least one and a half hours to cover the stretch as he passed through villages and towns.“Now, people can originally get out of the expressway and take the Bandicui-Jipur spur, which is a 67-km four-lane access-controlled highway. The maximum allowed speed on this link for cars is 100-120 km per hour. Adequate signage has been imposed to inform and guide adequate signage,” NHAII Officers said.Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the Greenfield link has been constructed at a capital cost of Rs 2,016 crore. He said, “This strategically important project provides direct, access-controlled connectivity between Delhi-Vododara Expressway and Jaipur, addressing a lack of a direct route that forced passengers to first, fuel-intensity travel for a long time,” he said. The minister said that the new spur will reduce the time of travel between Delhi and Jaipur and improve dynamics by reducing the congestion on NH -48 and NH -21. The link was later added to the flagship Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project considering the development of Jaipur-Bound Traffic. While the new link reduces the distance of 20 km between Delhi and Jaipur, there will be more relief for the passengers by December when the first 9-km stretch of the DND flyway-KMP interchange on the expressway starts. People going from Ghaziabad, Noida and East Delhi will be able to travel to Jaipur. The entire stretch of 260 km between DND flyway and Jaipur can be completed in two-and-a-half hours through the Bandikui link.
