Former England captain Owen Paarel is in line for a notable call-up for Australia’s British and Irish Lions tour.
Coach Andy Paarel is ready to turn his son back as a replacement for Elliot Daily, who is refused to injury on the Queensland Reds on Wednesday.
33 -year -old Owen Paarel, recently returned to Surkens after a difficult season in Paris with Racing 92.
He won 112 caps for his country before taking a break from England duty after the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
There is no doubt on the credibility of Lion, Fareel, a Test on 2013, 2017 and 2021 tours.
But his call-up is controversial.
Paarel has not played international rugby in almost two years and has not played at all in about nine weeks after suffering a consent suffering for racing against Lyon on 4 May, which is his last game for the top 14 side.
