The Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed the Bengal government to file an affidavit on the progress of investigation in the Law College ganging rape case.The Division Bench led by Justice Samen Sen directed the state officials to submit a diary of the case of investigation during the prescribed hearing on July 10.The High Court received three public interest litigation (PIL) about the alleged sexual attack of a student of a law at South Calcutta Law College, where an alumni Monojit Mishra and two senior students- Zab Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee- were allegedly involved, PTI reported.The court sent Monojo, Zub and Pramit to police custody by 8 July.

They were instructed to keep it there by evening.”Following the crime, Monched allegedly asked some of his trusted colleagues to stay in the campus and monitored any unusual activity at Kasba police station, one kilometer during the night. He, Zib and Pramit left around the time when he was raised by his father. The official claimed that the discussion was “limited to cases related to college”. Pramit approached a lawyer that day, the police said. He and Zab were also called several college seniors, with some political links, arguments were made. Sources said that they refused to tell the pair to “face results”.
