Brian Kohberger, who was a PhD student of Criminology, prepared the US to prosecute the attacks in August.
In November 2022, Kaylee Gonclaves, Ethan Chapin, Xna Karnodal and Madison Mogan were killed in his off-kampus house in Moscow city.
“Are you guilty because you are guilty?” Judge Hippler asked the defendant.
“Yes,” Kohberger replied.
He said that he did not read or heard any message, and urged people to stop them from sending them.
He convicted all the allegations.
Judge Hippler said he would be formally sentenced on 23 July. It is expected that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Some people appeared to tear in the court as the names of the victims were read. Kohberger showed no feeling, in which he accepted to kill four victims.
The argument deal has divided the families of the victims.
Outside the court, Kayley Gonclaves’ father, Steve said he felt “very good”.
He said that the state “signed a deal with Satan”.
The family wanted a complete confession, in which details about the location of the weapon of the murder and the defendant confirmed the acting alone.
However, Madison Mozen’s mother and stepfather said that he supported the petition agreement outside the court.
In a statement read by his lawyer, he thanked all those who supported him and for “successful results”.
“We support the petition agreement 100%,” the lawyer read.
“We turn to tragedy and mourning … in future light. We have closed,” he said.
Kohberger, who was a Student at Nearby Washington State University, was charged in January 2023. He had to this point mainted his innocence, and prosecutors did not state a motive. It is not believed that he knew the victims personally.
The defendant was arrested after stabbing his Pennsylvania family’s house in weeks, when investigators said they found DNA evidence on the “leather knife sheath” at the crime site. He was inspired by a grand jury in May 2023.
His defense team questioned the accuracy of DNA evidence and was successful in his dialect to move the test location, after arguing that his customer would not get a fair hearing from local gamblers.
But they had failed to remove the death sentence as an alternative to the punishment, citing an autism diagnosis for Kohberger.
Idaho is one of the 27 American states that have not been executed since 2012, according to a database of the death penalty information center.
