The MPs have voted in favor of the law to prosecute Group Palestine’s action as a terrorist organization, which passes through 26 by 385 votes.
This order, which amends the Terrorism Act 2000, is now expected to be signed by Home Secretary Yatete Cooper and to be implemented later this week.
Once effective, supporting Palestine’s action will become a criminal offense, with membership or expressing support for direct action group for jail sentence.

But many labor backbenchers questioned the action and whether it would not be more proportional for the group to deal with criminal law.
Overall, 10 labor MPs, including a teller, voted against the government.
One of them, Labor MP Clive Louis said that “there was a long history in this country, which pushes the boundaries of our democracy” and this “still direct action … did not … terrorist action”.
His party’s ally Richard Bargon said that the law took the risk of “criminalization to thousands of volunteers and supporters” – and said that a large number of people were associated with the group in this capacity, including “students, nurses, retired and professionals”.
The prosecution order will now be in front of Lord’s on Thursday where it is likely to pass.
The Palestine Action has been mainly engaged in target activities targeting arms companies since the onset of the current war in Gaza.
Israel launched its military operation in Gaza in response to Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack, killing around 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.
Since then, according to the Hamas-Interested Health Ministry of the region, 56,500 people have been killed in Gaza.
