Google Deepmind has introduced a powerful on-device version of its Gemini Robotics AI.
This new system allows robots to complete complex tasks without relying on cloud connections. Known as Gemini robotics on-device, the model brings Gemini’s advanced logic and control abilities directly into physical robots. It is designed for faster, reliable performance in places with poor or any Internet connectivity, which makes it ideal for the real world, delay-sensitive environment.

Holy robots that work anywhere
Unlike its cloud-connected predecessor, this version runs perfectly on the robot. It can understand the natural language, perform fine motor functions and normalize with very low data, without the need for internet connection. According to Carolina Parda, the leading Carolina of Robotics in Google Deepmind, the system is “small and efficient enough” to operate directly on the ship. Developers can use models in conditions where connectivity is limited, without renouncing intelligence or flexibility.

Easy to adapt and train
Gemini robotics on-devices can be adapted with only 50 to 100 performances. The model was previously trained using Google’s Aloha robot, but it has already been adapted to other platforms such as Apptronik’s Apollo Humanoids and Franca FR3. For the first time, developers can fix a deepmind robotics model. Google is providing access through its reliable examiner program and released a full SDK to support experiment and development.

Local control means more privacy and reliability
Since Artificial Intelligence runs directly on the robot, all data remain local. This approach provides better privacy for sensitive applications, such as in healthcare. This allows the robot to continue operations in the internet outage or isolated environment. Google sees this version as a strong fit for remote, security-sensitive or infrastructure-poor settings. The system distributes low point points of rapid response time and failure, opening new possibilities for robot sins in real -world settings.
Developer input is required for safety
The on-device model does not include the underlying economy facilities. Google recommends that developers build a security system in their robots using Mithun Live API and reliable low-level controllers. The company is limiting access to the selection of developers for better studies safety risks and real -world applications. While the hybrid model still provides more overall power, this version keeps its own for the most common use cases and helps to push robotics close to the daily deployment.
