Dubai’s Rhods and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a series of significant upgrades with the aim of improving traffic flows and reducing the crowd between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khel Road through Al Medan Street. These changes come as part of the RTA’s comprehensive plan to increase road connectivity and support Dubai’s ongoing development and vision for sustainable transport.
Major road reform
One of the main upgrades includes widening the exit from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Medan Street. First a single lane, this exhaust is now extended up to two lanes, has increased its capacity and reduce the bottleneck that drivers often experience during the busy period.Additionally, the bridge on the first Al Khel Road has been widened to four lanes. This expansion is designed to enhance traffic capacity to a great extent and has already reduced a significant decrease in travel time.The RTA also focused on the connecting ramp between the Surface Road and the first Al Khel Bridge, doubled their width. This upgrade Al -Sports Road and Al Medan Street significantly improve the flow of vehicles, especially during peak hours when the crowd is formed.
Important impact on traffic flow
The exit is the expansion of D69 of the most effective changes. This exit capacity is doubled by 1,500 to 3,000 vehicles per hour, which can lead to very smooth exit from Sheikh Zayed Road to the surrounding network. According to RTA reports, these enrichrs have cut the time of traveling up to 40 percent during the crowd hours. Vehicle queues have also been cut in half, which has improved overall driving experience for thousands of passengers daily.
