Is this, thinking something, 2003 again?
In 2003, Britain joined the US in a highly controversial military operation against Iraq, which relieves its alleged arsenal of “weapons of massive destruction”. All these were destroyed years ago.
As a closest but junior colleague to the US, what happens in the UK Middle East is almost certain to be affected in some way. If Donald Trump has decided to commit the US forces to help eliminate Iran’s nuclear program, what role would Britain be asked to play?
First, Britain is far from being a central player in this battle between Israel and Iran.
Britain along with other G7 colleagues has been called for de-size, but is unlikely to listen to Israel.
This is not just because the relationship between Britain and Israel has recently sourced Britain joined other Western countries in approving two Israeli cabinet ministers To incite violence against Palestinians at West Bank.
This is also because Israel clearly decided that now Iran had an opportunity to work military against the suspected nuclear program and the time to talk was over. (In a clear snub for the UK, Israel allegedly did not inform it before its attack on Iran, given that it is “not a reliable partner”.)
But Britain still has a diplomatic role, along with its European colleagues, helped prepare the 2015 draft. JCPOA Iran Nuclear Deal Until Donald Trump pulled the US out of the deal in 2018, Iran’s infiltration of the facilities of Iran introduced the United Nations inspections in exchange for relief of sanctions.
David Lami, Foreign Secretary, is meeting his US counterparts in Washington, and he is going to Geneva, Switzerland on Friday to join his French, German and European Union counterparts in a conversation with Iran.
Britain also has military and strategic wealth in the Middle East and Indian Ocean.
Here is how they can join.
Diego Garcia
it Tiny, Tropical Indian Ocean Islands Aadhaar, Jointly operated by the UK and the US and leased from the nearby Mauritius, it has a strategic importance out of all the ratio of its size.
From 2,300 miles (3,700 km) from Iran, it is a possible staging base for USAF B2 Spirit Heavy Bombers.
These GBU-57 are the only aircraft in the world configured to carry a large-scale Ordnance Marmist (MOP) bomb. This 30,000LB (13.6 tons) demons are sometimes referred to as “bunker-busters”, but it is an under-assemate. Retired US Army General Petrus referred to it as a “mountain-buster” this week. It is believed that Iran’s suspected nuclear enrichment facility is powerful enough weapon to enter the deep underground in Fordo.
If the US had to use Diego Garcia, it would have required permission from the UK. Attorney General, Richard Hermer has advised the UK government that any UK military partnership needs to be purely defensive in nature to remain within the law.
The B2 bombers have a distance of about 7,000 miles, which is about 7,000 miles, which is at a distance from their airbase to Iran in Missouri, and with fuel filling the US, if it chose bomb Fordo without using Diego Garcia.
Cyprus
The UK has two major strategic wealth on this Mediterranean island.
An RAF is Acarotiri, which is currently home to the reinforced appearance of RAF typhoon jets. Other Ayios Nicolos has a secret signal intelligence listening station at the top of a mountain, known as “Ayia Nick”, and is part of Britain’s sovereign base region on Cyprus.
The British Army has also long used Cyprus as a base for its “Spearhead Battalion”, which has been available in the Middle East a rapid deployment force for contingencies.
RAF’s typhoon is already engaged in Operation Shadar, monitoring and sometimes bombing the Islamic State Group (IS) and al-Qaeda bases in Syria and Iraq.
Last year, during a brief conflict between Israel and Iran, Britain’s warfare aircraft were reported to help shoot the Iranian drone coming to Israel. But in this struggle, an Israeli spokesman told the BBC that no UK assistance has been sought or presented in doing the same work.

The royal navy has played a small but important role in placing the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz has been freed from marine mines.
It is in the dates of the 1980–88 Iran Iraq tanker war, where the mines were deployed and the UK activated its “Armila Petrol”. The Royal Navy Minimirs was located in Bahrain, which was greatly appreciated by the 5th Fleet Headquarters of the nearby US Navy, which has been surprisingly, weakened on the mine counter measures.
However, the UK ships are close to the end of their working life and the presence of the Royal Navy is gradually decreased. This has contributed to disappointing assessment, which Iran must decide to close the straw of Hormuz, through which the world’s oil supply has a 20–30% flow, its effect will be considerable.
The Ministry of Defense says that a Royal Navy Minsvepar, HMS Middleton, is now in the Gulf. “The Royal Navy Vessels in the Gulf are currently in the sea”, it says, “and has not been retained to conduct war operations”.
Iraq also has a small, 100-fierce Britain’s military appearance and a port feature in Dukem in Oman.
Shock
Iran has indicated on several occasions that there will be retaliation against any nation that attacks it, or which he does justice to help to enable an attack, which is sometimes called “jerk”.
The target list will have America’s base in the top sector, as well as its naval ships in the sea.
But in the event that the UK was asked to authorize the USAF to use its base in Diego Garcia, the Fordo would include the Iranian nuclear facility, then that vengeance would have almost certainly involved the UK.
In practice, it may include ballistic missiles fired in RAF Akarotiri, but will also be on alert for any hostile acts by security service, Mi5, Iran in Britain, which may include sabotage and arson by criminal gangs.
