The Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navneman Army (MNS) on Tuesday issued a joint invitation for a win rally in Mumbai on 5 July, after the Maharashtra government’s decision to withdraw three language policy in schools.
The July 5 rally was earlier a protest rally against the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra schools. However, it has now been converted into a winning rally, which is going to start at NSCI Dome in Worli around 10 am.
A joint invitation to celebrate ‘Marathi Victory Day’ is the first official announcement for the rally, and the program mentions cousins Raj and Uddhav Thackeray as hosts. The title ‘Maratha Awaz’, the invitation does not tolerate the symbol or flag of any party, but bears a graphic image of Maharashtra.
“Have we tilted the government? Yes! This festival will be yours and we were only fighting on your behalf,” says the invitation.
The Maharashtra cabinet on Sunday decided to withdraw two government orders (GRS) regarding the implementation of three-language policy, in which Hindi language will be introduced in schools from 1 to 5 classes.
Uddhav, Raj’s first political presence together in two decades

The scheme was first mentioned by Army (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, who said that he had talked to Raj Thackeray about organizing a victory rally.
A few hours later, Raj Thackeray held a press conference, which confirmed that the victory rally would be held on the same date, as fixed for opposition, in celebration of ‘Marathi Manos’ unity.
The MNS chief thanked the Army (UBT) and NCP (SP) for their support against the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra schools. He said that the opposition will continue despite the report of Narendra Jadhav Committee.
