A one -minute silence has been held for three teenage friends killed in an accident on a highland road late Thursday night.
The Fort William Shinty Club (FWSC) nominated two teenagers as Fergus Ward and Louis Knoc, and said that both of them were regularly the first team members and had strong family connections with the club.
The club decided to hold a minute’s silence before the game of its first and second teams on Saturday afternoon.
Fergus and Lewis died, with a friend, who was nominated by FWSC as Jordan, Arisig near A830 in a single vehicle accident,
‘Deep connection’
The FWSC stated that the local community had lost three youths, and said that its “deepest” sensation had left for their families.
The club said: “Both Fergus Ward and Lewis Knox were regular members of FWSC, who were correctly developing through youth rank and were an integral part of the current under -17S team.
“Both boys have family connections to the club.
“Boys will be remembered a lot by their families, friends and comprehensive community.”
FWSC said that after much consideration it was decided that the best way to honor the teenagers was to come together and play on Saturday’s prescribed games.
It states: “We hope that we can pride their memory and honor him on the Shinty Field.”
Shiney’s governing body, Cameanach Association said that it was condolences with FWSC and broader community of sports.
Locber Camanachd Club’s U -14 held a minute’s silence before a game in Bell on Friday night.
Fort William Football Club said that there would be a similar tribute before its match on Saturday.
Appeal for information
Emergency services were called in an accident at around 23:15 on Thursday.
It took place on a road section near the Borodel House Hotel.
On Friday, the police Scotland inspired Dony McCinen: “Our views are with the family and friends of those who died as a result of this accident.”
The official said: “Our inquiry is going on to establish the entire circumstances, and I am appealing to anyone who watch the accident and has not already talked to the authorities. to get in touch,
“I will appeal to someone who was in this area and who can have a dacoit footage that can help in contacting us.”
The accident occurred on a road section near the Borodel House Hotel.
Police, ambulance and fire crew were sent to the spot.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated that it was alerted before 23:30, and two equipment were sent to assist other emergency services.
‘Deeply sad’
The road was closed till around 11:55 on Friday.
The first minister John Swine and his deputy Kate Forbes, who are a highland MSP, have posted messages on social media, who express their shock and sadness.
Swine said: “Arsig near Aisig is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of three youths in a car accident.
“My thoughts are in this heartbreaking time with his family, friends and the whole community.”
Kate Forbes, Deputy First Minister and MSP for Sky, Lochber and Badenoch said that he was deeply sorry to hear the news of the incident.
He said: “It is disastrous beyond words. My thoughts and prayers are all impressed.”
In Fort William, the elasticber high school has posted a message to students, parents and employees on social media.
It said: “We are very sad about the recent tragedy in our community.
“Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone affected in this difficult time.”
Lochber High said that from Monday, assistance services will be available for students and parents.
