According to the head of a union, only a carefully planned murder of a former jail officer has “frightened” to do his job and damaged morale.
Lenny Scott 33-year-old was shot in February 2024 by Drug-Dealer Eliias Morgan, four years after exposing a career’s criminal sex with a female officer in HMP Ollars, Liverpool.

But according to Mark Fairherst, the murder of a former officer outside the workplace, Union The Jail Officer Association (POA) was congratulated by “shock and scary in the entire profession”.
“We are subject to dangers due to all the dangers, which we face both inside the workplace and when we socialize.”
“But for this to happen, the job is unprecedented three years after someone leaves.”
According to Lancashire police detectives, Mr. Scott was a physically imposed person in body-building, GU-Jitsu and Strongman Games, so he was often known if there was trouble in the run category B jail.

According to his family, he was disillusioned about his career in March 2020, when he found himself at the end of Morgan’s anger after seizing an iPhone from his cell, in which the jail officer had a description of the relationship with Sara Williams.
Nine -week testing in the Preston Crown Court heard that after refusing to bribe the phone for the phone “Kho”, Mr. Scott was threatened, and his terror realized that Morgan had received details about his addresses, his partner and his children.
Mr. Scott’s parents, Neel and Paula Scott have said that they believe that Ollars managers did not treat those dangers seriously.
In court, a statement by Paula told how his son told him that he was confident that Morgan had received details that were looking at the female jail officer, although there was no evidence to prove it.
During the trial, the jury recorded the prison intelligence logs as to how Morgan had a history of threatening “severe violence”, including threats of death to dating fellow prisoners and jail staff back in 2011.
Logs stated that Morgan claimed that he would make contact with “people in the community”, which would “carry out his threats” with various types of weapons on his behalf.
On 8 February 2024, a month after Shri Scott’s house and two gyms are taken out, he was ambushed by ambushing his victim outside a gym on Peel Road in Scalmersdel in Lancashire, ambushing him with ambush and ambush.
Mr. Scott was included in the head six times and was beyond help when Paramedics arrived.
Morgan was convicted of murder on Friday from Age Hill in Liverpool and will be sentenced on Tuesday 2 September.

“We have a police warning from the police where the employees are subject to serious and imminent risk from criminal gangs, but I have never known any member of employees to be targeted in this way.
“It is completely frightening and demonstrates the general public that it is actually a risky and unsafe work.”
When asked about the effect on morale, he told the BBC: “It rethinks you on your career.
“Is it worth the risk for the money you really pay, as it is not a well -paid job.
“You are in a hostile and violent environment, and now that you are socialize out of work or going about your daily activities from the workplace, you are also in danger.”
He echoed the concerns raised by Mr. Scott’s parents, and said that he believes that the private sector of the prison service needs to be more needed to deal with serious threats.
Mr. Fairharst said that there are procedures and policies to protect employees in public sector jails and remove them from dangerous conditions.
“I hope this is a regrettable case to improve its processes for the private sector and learn from the public sector is a learning state to learn how we protect our employees,” he said.
