Pentagon stands strongly behind the Defense Secretary for personnel and readiness Anthony Tata, who is facing a legal dispute in Florida associated with a self-destroyed astrologer.
Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell told Fox News that Tata continues to enjoy full confidence with the Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Parnell said, “Under secretary Tata has full and total belief of Secretary Hegseth in his role and his support will continue.” “Mr. Tata has done a great job on the priorities of this department and this administration. We are strongly standing by him.”
According to a 17-page complaint filed in Palm Beach County and Fox News was obtained by Digital, John Doo, whose personal details aligned with Tata, attempted harassment, defamation and forced recovery on Amy Trip. The suit alleged that he threatened his marriage and career, while the money demanded money to remain silent.

The filing States DOE and Tripp met in April 2024 on the Dating App Bumble, while DOE was working on a book and consulting about “astrological beliefs and related issues”.
Their relationship evolved into both a professional relationship about astrology business with a casual sex. DOE also invested at Trip’s company, StarHhel LLC in exchange for 5% equity stake.
The court records suggest that after the alleged harassment increased, a temporary preventive order against the trip was given on August 7, 2025. A summons issued later that month ordered him to respond to the allegations within 20 days.

While the Florida case comes to light, Tata’s career spreads military and public service for decades. A retired army Brigadier General and novelist, he spent 28 years in uniform, including service in Afghanistan. After retiring, he transitioned in the roles of civil leadership, which included signs in education and as the Transport Secretary of Northern Carolina.
West Point graduates are Tata, Army’s prestigious service medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Merit Ki Lion, Combat Action Badge, Afghanistan campaign medal, Kosovo campaign medal and a recipient of the Ranger Tab.
His public career has not been without disturbance. Tata resigned from the post of transport in 2015, after investigation from his management, and his nomination for a top Pentagon role in 2020 attracted attention to previous social media posts. Reported by CNNTata later apologized for his comment.
