Tikok India has opened recruitment for two posts in its Gurgaon office. The company has posted a job for “Content Moderator (Bengali Speaker) Trust and Safety” and “Welling Partnership and Operations Lead, Trust and Safety” on LinkedIn.
Tikok India’s website comes to hiring after being accessible again a few weeks ago, guessing that the Government of India has lifted the ban on the app.
Government sources have not confirmed any changes in the status of tickets, and this app is unavailable on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently stated that the report states that Tiktok may be accessible in India.
Government sources said, “The Government of India has not issued any unlocking order for Tikokkok. Any such statement or news is wrong and misleading.”
Ticketkok, owned by China’s bidence, was one of the 59 mobile applications banned by the Government of India in June 2020. The other banned apps consisted of UC browser and weecht. The government cited concerns that these apps were prejudiced for India’s sovereignty, security and public system.
After the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes in eastern Ladakh, tension between India and China increased. The decision was supported by the then Union Home Minister Amit Shah and was approved by the Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla before the IT Ministry issued a formal order.
Officials noted that the banned apps were reportedly leaked user data, including location information, and transferred it to the server in China. Some apps, including beauty and selfie camera apps, were also flagged off with objectionable materials.
Prior to the ban, Tikok had an estimated 200 million users in India. Conflicts on Chinese -made hardware and software, including potential backdoor, are also quoted in India and other countries, especially in terms of 5G networking devices.
