A drug dealer has been convicted of killing a former jail officer in a “Revenge of Revenge”, four years after seizing a mobile phone from his jail cell.
On 8 February 2024, Father-off-Three Lenny Scott was shot six times outside a gym in Scalmarsdele, Lancashire, as she emerged from the GU-Jitsu training session.
35-year-old gunman Elias Morgan was unanimously convicted of murder in the Preston Crown Court after a nine-week trial, while 29-year-old her co-composed Anthony Cliery was not found guilty of both murder and mangelotter.
The jury heard the discovery of the phone at HMP Ockourse, Liverpool, exposed a sexual relationship between Morgan and another jail officer named Sara Williams.
Neither appeared to the defendant response as eight men and three women of the jury returned their decision after five hours and 24 -minute consultation.
Clear was accused of supporting Morgan’s murder plan by giving a gate -eway van and an electric bike for the shooting scene, but told the jury that he did not know that his close friend was planning to shoot anyone.
By the time of shooting, the jury had heard that Morgan was out of jail after completing a sentence for drugs.
However, he was again arrested on suspicion of keeping a phone in jail and was on bail before the scheduled test for 11 days after the shooting.
The prosecution’s Alex Leach Casey told the jury that the evidence revealed a “powerful image” of Morgan, which was “inspired to take revenge” to kill Mr. Scott.
The jury heard that the chain reaction began on 26 March 2020 when Mr. Scott refused to bribe cash for “Kho” the phone found in Morgan’s sale.
At that time Mr. Scott told his father, Neil Scott, that Morgan told him: “I will spend my time, but I promise that I will find you before you indicate a gun with your fingers”.
