Democratic village of Illinois. JB Pritzkar said the state “If President Donald Trump performed well on his threat to deploy the National Guard to Chicago, he would not be good at his danger in Chicago to respond to a crime in Windy City.
“Unlike Donald Trump, we make our promises,” the governor wrote on X on Wednesday. “We will not be silly if he decides to send the National Guard to scare the Chicago dwellers.”
“Action would be found with a reaction,” they continued.
Pritzker’s comments are the latest in their recent quarrels with Trump, as the federal government weighs whether the soldiers have to be sent to Chicago.

Trump responded to Pritzkar and Johnson on Tuesday, wrote in a social media post that the governor is “disabled” and the mayor “is nothing better.”

This comes after Trump’s move to promote the presence of federal law enforcement in Washington, DC in an attempt to reduce crime.
