HSBC has apologized that some were stopped from reaching their accounts after customers reaching online banking or being unable to use their apps in the UK.
Thousands of people have reported problems on the outage-checking site doutater since the first surfaced on 11:00 BST on Wednesday.
According to HSBC’s service status website, customers can still reach their accounts by phones and in-traditions, and card payments are unaffected.
“We are really sorry and are investigated as urgency,” the bank said in a post on X.
The BBC has approached HSBC for comments.
Customers have taken on social media to complain about the effects on them.
One person said that it was “very worrying”, other people complained that it comes between bank branches due to the closure in Britain over the years.
In 2022, HSBC announced the closure of 114 branches in the UK. Later it promised not to close any more branches by 2026.
The firm has not given a time limit as to how long it would take to fix the problem, but said that it was “hard work” to solve it.
