New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of “Voter Adhikar Yatra” of “derogatory” BR Ambedkar in Po-Bound Bihar.In a social media post on X, BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya said that the incidents “show how deep his hatred towards Baba Saheb Ambedkar.”“Today, once again, the young princes of the Congress and the RJD alliance have insulted Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Last time, Lalu Prasad Yadav has shown contempt, and this time, Rahul Gandhi has done the same,” Malaviya said.“These incidents clearly show how deep his hatred towards Dalits and the revered leader of the society Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Now it has become a “journey of insult”, he said.He also shared a video in which Rahul Gandhi’s bodyguards were seen pushing a person away as he tried to contact the Congress leader with a picture of Ambedkar in his hand.RJD supremo Lalu Yadav was accused of disrespecting BR Ambedkar’s portrait.A video went viral on social media, in which an RJD worker sees Ambedkar’s picture as a gift near Lalu’s feet on his birthday. Lalu neither touched the picture nor spoke a word.Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and DMK MP Kanimozhi also attended the ongoing “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Muzaffarpur and attended Rahul and other India block leaders.The 16-day ‘Voter Adikar Yatra’ in Bihar, which included Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashvi Yadav, aims to raise awareness about the alleged irregularities in the voter list, which opposition leaders have called a case of ‘Vote Chori’ (vote theft). At a distance of more than 1,300 km in 20 districts, the journey is scheduled to end in Patna on 1 September.The Bihar assembly elections are expected to be the end of this year, although the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced the official date.While the NDA, including BJP, JD (U), and LJP, is aimed at continuing its term in Bihar, India block, which includes RJD, Congress and Left parties, which wants to exclude Nitish Kumar.
