New Delhi: The Awami Itatehad Party of Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid, the Awami Itatehad Party on Tuesday performed a demonstration to mark its six years of six years in Jante Mantar, stating that his continuous imprisonment is “attack on democracy”.Activists of AIP and Civil Society activists gathered at the protest site and “solidarity with engineer Rashid and other innocent Kashmiris expressed solidarity in separate jails across the country and in Jammu and Kashmir. Placards and banners were taken.“Putting a democratically electedly elected MP behind bars reduces a lot of mandate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” said AIP spokesman Inam Anam Anam An Nabi.“The gel walls cannot silence the mandate of the people” and “When the leaders are put in jail, the democracy fails,” by carrying the poster, the protesters urged the government that they are “unjust and prolonged custody.”“The leaders addressed the gathering, said that despite public support and parliamentary mandate, there is a six -long dislocation ‘a visit to justice’ and demanded immediate release of the engineer to represent his people inside the Parliament,” said Inam.
