A flight from Guernse to Manchester was tracked online by more than a million people for unknown reasons.
Aurigny stated that its regularly operated route on Monday was seen by 1.3 million people on App Flightradar24, which makes it “one of the most viewed flights in the world”.
Flightradar24 said on its social media channels that it “has been the most interested in ATR 72 – and no, we do not know why”.
The Guernsey Airline as to why the flight was tracked, which included “Crown Jewels” for famous celebrities.
ATR, who operated the aircraft, first officer Tamar Birsen said the team was operating “just one regular flight”.
He said: “Later to search for the curious news that more than a million people were watching with us, there was a real surprise – great for our 15 -minute fame!
“Guernsey is a beautiful place, and it is definitely worth a real -world trip.”
Sam Claxton, Marketing Manager of Visitgurensay, expects “curiosity or coincidence” bring more people to the island.
“It’s not every day that Guernsey finds himself in a global spotlight for a regular flight,” he said.
“But we are thrilled that so many people got a glimpse of our island, even if only really.”
