President Donald Trump has announced a name change, “The next week is going to be” going to “for the next week”.
The President said at the White House that the Defense Secretary PT Hegaseth “is incredible with” as I call it the war department. “
“You know that we call it the Defense Department, but among us, I think we are going to change the name. You want to know the truth? I think we are going to get some information on it, perhaps soon,” said Trump.
“But I think, because you know, the Department of Defense, we won the World War one, World War II. It was called the war department. And what is it really for me. Defense is a part of that. But I think we are going to change,” Trump continued. “I am talking to people. Everyone likes it. We had an incredible history of victory when it was a war department. Then we changed it.
Trump then said, “This is something that I think you are going to hear or see the next few weeks,” and “maybe this change is being done in the next week.”

When asked about the name change in another White House incident on Monday, Trump told a reporter “We are just going to do it.”
Trump said, “I am sure if we need it, the Congress will go along. I don’t think we need it too. But if we need it, I am sure that Congress will go with,” Trump also said. You know, the name was when we won a world war. We won the world war. We won everything. And, just for me, just looks much more suitable. The second is, defense is very defensive. And we want to be defensive, but we also want to be aggressive, if we have to be. So it seemed just like a better name for me. ,

The Defense Department states on its website that the War Department was established by the Congress in August 1789 “at the cabinet level to take care of the operation and maintenance of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps”.
After the conclusion of World War II, in July 1947, President Harry Truman National Security Act signed Joe, the site says, “The Navy and War Departments and the new independent Air Force were merged into a single organization, called the National Military Establishment, led by a Civil Secretary of Defense, which also oversees the joint chiefs.”
Two years later in August 1949, the National Security Act was amended, in which the National Military Establishment was named.
