Fisher believes that the world of sports has made slight progress in embracing women of all shapes and sizes and with differences, one of the most inclusive sports with rugby.
Social media platforms, especially Tiktok, have played an important role in transferring perceptions, allowing athletes to tell their stories and highlight ways to break the mold.
Reversing his own career, Fisher notes how different the landscape was even a few years ago.
While she was playing, the presence of social media was in her early stages. If you worked on your profile, “You were almost seen as not taking the game seriously,” she says.
But he has changed now.
“If I was definitely playing now, I will definitely share my story on social media. It will change its head and it will be a real positive way to show the game and show to someone who looks different and feels different,” she says.
It was again defined among the athletes as to what is a woman in the game, the United States superstar Ilona Maher.
She is the most rugged player – male or female – in the world, thanks to materials with millions of followers on Tiktok and Instagram that celebrates her strength and femininity.
“I think with Ilona Maher, this is really interesting because he has done such a good job,” Fisher says.
“She is a great lawyer she keeps there and she is fantastic. But she still looks very woman.”
