Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday morning faced the raid from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of an alleged hospital construction scam.
MLA from Greater Kailash, Jordwaj, has organized various departments during the tenure of AAP in the Delhi government. These include health, urban development and water.
Why Ed raided Saurabh Bhardwaj
According to an official statement by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), a case has been registered against Saurabh Bhardwaj and AAP leader Satyendar Jain for former Delhi health ministers, in connection with large-scale corruption in the health infrastructure projects of the Delhi Government. ,
“24 Hospital Projects – 11 Greenfield and 13 Brownfield – were approved at the cost of 5,590 crores in 2018-19. These projects are converted into incompetent delays and astronomical cost overran, indicating large -scale financial embezzlement, “ACB further said.
The ACB stated that it was found “large -scale irregularity, unexplained delays and significant misuse of money” regarding the construction of various hospitals, polyclinics and icy wings in Delhi.
“The case was registered with the competent authority after receiving approval under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act. On 22.08.2024, a detailed complaint was received from Vijendra Gupta, the then opposition, the Leader of Delhi, the Leader of Delhi, the Serious Irregularity and the suspected corruption in various health infrastructure projects said.
AAP response to ED raid on Saurabh Bhardwaj
The Aam Aadmi Party reacted to the ED raid on its MLA and official spokesperson, Saurabh Bhardwaj. The party has said that the case against Greater Kailash MLA is “fake” and comes back at one time when he was not a minister.
Another AAP Health Minister, Satyendar Jain, recently received huge relief in a graft case when a court closed the case as an investigative agency, in his case, the CBI did not find any evidence of wrongdoing.
