Six young children were drawn from the sea in a “major event” on a popular beach, a rescue team said.
Port Talbot Coastguard Rescue stated that it responded to reports of many children being “severe difficulty” in the “severe difficulty” in the sea from the slipway at the Nath Port Talbot at around 20:30 BST on Sunday.
Three children were safely brought to ashes using a throw line, while the rescue authorities entered the water to bring the remaining casualties for safety.
Porthakall Coastguard, Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat, Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Police also participated and all six children were assessed before going to the hospital for further medical treatment.
