A 5 -year -old boy was admitted to the hospital after being shot inside an apartment on the South Side of Chicago on Sunday afternoon.
The shooting took place around 1:17 pm in 4400 blocks of South Greenwood Avenue in Kenwood neighborhood.
The Chicago police said the child was inside the apartment when he had a gunshot wound on his head.
He was taken to the children’s hospital in critical condition.
Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene and no one was in custody.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
